Joanna Hellgren (SWE b. 1981) “I’m from a suburb of Stockholm. Everybody there lived in nice houses and if someone’s parents divorced, they moved away. No hard reality knocked on the door.

Joakim Ojanen (SWE) is currently studying illustration and graphic design at Konstfack in Stockholm. Late last year he released a zine calledStreet Smart and recently a dubble zine called Limo Zine Plus One.

Jacob Ørsted is a comic book writer from Nørrebro, Copenhagen and one of the contributors to the anthology From Wonderland With Love (Aben Maler 2009). Jacob has worked with the illustrator Søren Mosdal since their release of ‘Hundegott’ in 1998.

Hanna Gustavsson (SWE) participated in the Nordicomics tour 2010 workhop and exhibition in Stockholm and Nordicomics Batic exhibition.

Esben S. Titland (NO b. 1984) is a Norwegian comic artist and illustrator. After a series of fanzines, he made his debut in 2008 with “Boats Against the Current” on Jippi Comics. The autobiographical travel journal about Brazil won the prize for best debut comic the following year.

Emelie Östergren (SWE b.1982) took her B.A at Konstfack in Stockholm 2007. Emelies pictures has been published in magazine such as Arena, Bang and Kuti Kuti.  Her debutbook “Evil Dress” came out in 2009, publiced by Sanatorium.

Emmi Valve (FIN b. 1984) is comic artist and illustrator from Porvoo.

In Emmi Valves’ comics, she wants to tell something about life as it is, often with the end result of almost like a dream which was once real. Personal experience has become an encompassing theme for Valve. She feels it is important to put something of yourself in the work. Sometimes it is scary to tell about yourself honestly, and Valve often thinks she won’t publish the ready comic anywhere because of it feels too personal. But after some time has passed, lucky for us, she ends up changing her mind.

Christian Skovgaard (DK) lives in Copenhagen, where he supports his stab at becoming a graphic novelist by holding down a job as an architectural model builder. He uses the comic medium to document things and places in his immediate environment to uncover their embedded stories about our society and culture.
