On the 9th and 10th December the Finnish Comics Society organized an international comics seminar in the pop-up Koomiksikeskus in Tallinn, Estonia. The seminar focused on comics culture in the countries around the Baltic sea. The main idea of the seminar was to talk about the possibilities of building a comics programme that would cover all countries around the Baltic sea. In addition the object was to discuss how co-operation between the comics festivals could be increased.
Among the attendees of the seminar were Kalle Hakkola, Mari Ahokoivu and Ville Hänninen (the Finnish Comics Society), Gert Jan Pos (Netherlands Foundation for the visual arts), Mads Bluhm (Komiks.dk, Denmark), Joonas Sildre (Estonia), Dmitry Yakovlev (Boomfest, Russia), Agne Litvinaite and Nerijus Smolianskis (Kitokia Grafika, Lithuania), Christian Maiwald (Reprodukt, Germany), Sascha Hommer (ORANG, Germany), Espen Holtestaul (No comprendo press, Norway), David Schilter (Kus!komikss, Latvia), Mikhal Slomka (Ligatura Festival, Poland) and Kristiina Kolehmainen (Serieteket, Sweden).
