Josefin Svenske

Josefin Svenske (b. 1984) is a full-time comic artist and co-founder of Kolik Förlag, one of the most diverse quality comics publishers in Sweden. In her own works, Svenske is interested in the documentary aspects of comics and in making new discoveries even from repetitive events in everyday life. Her comics have been published in the Swedish comics anthologies and magazines Galago, Utopi and Tivoli and in the comics journal Bild & Bubbla. Svenske is also one of the main teachers at the internationally renowned Kvarnby Comics School in Malmö.

“In 1999 I moved to Copenhagen from Thy on the northwest coast of Denmark where I grew up. In Copenhagen I joined the comics and illustration workshop Fort Kox, where I met other comic book artists and illustrators and started working on my first comic book Ghost.

Signe Parkins

Signe Parkins (DK, 1979)  works in the field between art and comics. Her drawings often evolve around personal subject matter, but she also makes trips into more surreal and dark lands. She has contributed to a series of Danish and international anthologies. Her days are spent between teaching drawing classes, catching up with herself in her diary sketchbook and working on books and minor cartoons. In 2012 her blog won a Ping-award for the best web-comic.

“For a few years I have been trying to find a language that suits my needs for telling a story. This search has led me to explore writing as much as illustration and, as such, the longer Graphic Novel fits my storytelling needs better than any other format.
